Originally the Gustav Hannesen Winery, subsequently Ewald Hannesen, now the O. Schneider Winery.
Ewald Hannesen arrived in Trarbach at the end of the 19th century and bought a house (no. 40) on Wildbadstraße (formerly the "Höhere Töchterschule"). The residence demonstrates a characteristic arrangement of "interconnecting domestic cellars" in the form of low-ceilinged barrel vaults, as can be found in numerous locations throughout the town.
In 1905 new commercial premises were erected adjacent to the private residence already mentioned. Overall the storage capacity now equalled approx. 100 tun casks and a bottle store for 25,000 wine bottles.
These days the cellars are used by the Olaf Schneider Winery.
