Formerly Wilhelm Faust Winery, now Emil Franz Winery.
During the nineteen twenties Wilhelm Faust moved his wine cellar from the Mosel riverbank in Traben to be close to the goods sidings of what was then the Imperial railway.
This meant protection from any future flooding and proximity to the freight station - perfect for shipping wine. At the heart of the three-section cellar complex is a barrel vault with wooden casks and stainless steel tanks. In later years a bottle store and a production unit featuring so-called Prussian vaulting were erected to the right and left.
In 1999 Andreas and Steffi Franz purchased the property and, following extensive renovations, relocated the Emil Franz Winery (formerly on Schottstraße in Trarbach) to this address.
